Literacy : In literacy we are doing stories from different cultures.

Topic:In Topic we are learning about the     importance of symbols for different religions.


 
Science: In science our latest experiment was seeing which bread goes mouldy first - white or brown. To do this we had to make sure it was a fair test. 

 
Maths: In maths we are doing lots of different investigations, such as weighing, capacity and length.

PE: In P.E we have started hockey .

                 This week’s bloggers are Ethan and Oviyan


As you know on Thursday Upper Key Stage 2 did their sharing assembly.
The assembly was a great success. We learnt a lot about British history. There were 2 bands in our play Queen and Beatles.





Following this we held the moonscape challenge. The overall design winner was Jason. Then all classes put their moon buggies to the ultimate test. The winner from Sycamore was Raj with a hard battle from Ethan. The winner from Rowan was Hafsah and Willow's winner was Oscar. The winner of the full thing was Hafsah followed by Oscar and Raj.




 LITERACY
In literacy we have been studying fairy tales from different countries like Ali Baba  and writing a recount of our  assembly. In Thursday’s literacy lesson we had to guess which country some words came from. The words which most surprised people were; shampoo from India and candy from Arabic.
 



MATHS
In maths we have been drawing and interpeting pie charts, weighing and lengths.

This week's bloggers were Katie and Holly

Science: In science we were learning about why the moon appears to change shape . We found out that it appears to change shape because the sun reflects on different parts the moon..

Maths:In maths we are doing data and bar graphs. We did a tally chart  asking everyone what cracking times table level they are on. The majority of the people were on level five.

Art: In art we did Christmas cards in 3D.
In the cards we noticed the different levels of drawing!

Topic:In topic we have been doing Britain since  1948-2000 and started doing our assembly with Rowan and Willow.

P.E: In P.E we split in to 4 groups and did a dance routine to thriller.

Children in need:As a class we raised £34.60 just for dressing up! At school we dressed up in spots.


 For the Talent competition we had a very high standard of entries.  Well done Natasha, Eloise, Joe and Billy, Ethan, Nick and Jaiyeola, Grace and Claudia who went on to the final. 





 
In our sharing assembly we are doing a play with Willow and Rowan. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.  
 
As a class Thomas won the Christmas CD cover.

Did you enjoy enterprise week and if so? why?

Rachel: I enjoyed enterprise week because it was challenging and fun.

Billy: I enjoyed Enterprise week because it was a great
experience.

 
What didn't you  not enjoy about enterprise?


 
Rachel : The competitiveness between  the classes.

Do you think you raised enough money?
 
Rachel / Billy: YES! We raised more than enough! (£227.2p )

Birthdays: Lucy turned ten on the 31st of October in the halve term.
 
Celebrations: Isla, Claudia, Rachel were the only girls in Sycamore who got onto the netball team! Raj got selected for country trials and won 3 trophies in cricket! Finlay won a golf competition in his age group and he also got a trophy plus one prise!
 
On the7th of November we were
 going to go to the
science dome but we didn't
because it was so expensive, so
instead they came to us. We watched two movies Co booby ruby and solar system.


In school we are making our very own CD. The schools choir (songsters) is singing Gary Barlow’s  “Sing.”


Sycamore class are doing their sharing 
Assembly based on 1980s it will have 80s themed music such as thriller the top music video from the 80s. We will have some of our very own Sycamore members performing the
Fantastic music video. Jaiyeola will be
playing Michael Jackson and the backup dancers are Isla, Rachel, Grace, Claudia,
William B, William K and Katie.    



Sycamore class are back from half term! We have lots of fun topics and lessons planed.

Maths: In maths we are split into three groups, in Mr  Edwards group we have been doing 2D shapes.
 
RE: in RE we have been studding different religions such as Christianity, Judaism and Islam.


Topic: in topic we have been doing Britain through the decades, we did our power points about a certain topic and then presented them to the class.

 
Literacy:In Literacy we have been in groups making our very own mini movies and we are coming to an and doing them.  
 
History: In history we have been doing some work on Guido Fawkes and bonfire night. Did you know they killed Guido Fawkes by hang, drawn and
quartered .
