We also learnt some Kung Fu punctuation. Ha

 Mrs Gilder and Mrs Williams
In our maths lesson we have been learning how to represent data. We drew a pictogram and wrote down 9 different author’s .e.g. JK Rowling and Michael Morpurgo. After that, we drew down how many books there were. Also we have been learning how to use a bar chart.

Art
In art, we designed our own posters based on ww2 .e.g. Dig for Victory.
First we drew a rough copy of our poster. Our poster was based on spies, food, Women’s land army or blackouts.

Linconsfelid Trip
On Tuesday UKS2 went to Linconsfield. We had to imagine that we were evacuated we had a number of activities to do.1 gardening. Gardening, we had to imagine there was fire on the roof top. We then split into 2 groups and had a race with a hosepipe. All of a sudden, the air aide siren went off, we had to rush to the Anderson shelter as quick as possible. 2 school. When we were in the school we had a very strict teacher called Miss Barber, if we were naughty she would hit us with a ruler. We made our own identity card also she would talk about what schools would have been like during WW2.3 Blitz. After the school, our group were next to go to the Blitz. Everyone said they had real rats but actually they didn’t. The man was an actual evacuee when he was young.  4 museum. In the museum we got to hold a real gun which was very heavy also we got to hold a backpack a man called stain came in and talked abut ww2 and what it was like to be a solider. He also told us how hard and difficult it was fighting because there would be Germans everywhere. 5 house. One of the activities was the house there was a lady called Anne she would say that she wouldn’t miss anything if we were being naughty she would have a tape to cover our mouths. Anne taught us how they would make clothes in the ww2 it was great fun.  6 cinema. In the cinema, we watched a clip of how to be evacuated. There were short clips of different subjects on how to be evacuated. Finally there was a small gift shop I brought a key ring and a blow ball set. Everybody enjoyed their day!

Literacy- This week we played a game called Kung Fu punctuation.  We looked at some adverts and thought about why they were persuasive.

Maths- This week we learnt about shapes. It was really fun!

Pe: We learnt a new game: Shuffle ball.

Science- We learnt that sound travels in sound waves.  When something makes a noise air particles vibrate, your ear  picks this up and then your brain then works out what made it. Fascinating!

Audience with... Cara showed us the amazing doll's house she has made.  Will shared an awesome book about WW2.

In literacy we have been learning about the gunpowder plot.  We did a acrostic poem and started writing a biography on Anne Frank.

We had fun in our PE lesson this week.  We  did country dancing from WW2.  Everyone had a smile on their face and we felt exhausted afterwards.

In history we have been studying food rationing from WW2  and we got to taste a navy style hot chocolate called kye.

We have been practising our Music Hall Sharing assembly.  We are looking forward to seeing lots of parents next Friday.

Thanks To Reece who brought in a DVD he made with Ashley, Jack and Louis - it was very good.

Well done to the fottballers, netballers and those who did the cross country.
