sycamores spectacular blog








This blog is by Hattie and Emily.

This week we have been doing lots of exciting things such as journalist day.


On Journalism Day we were put into groups and we had to plan a news report to record later on in the day. we had a visitor in assembly, from BBC, she was a reporter, and we were told all about journalism and how stressful it can be, we were all allowed to ask questions and they were all answered.Then she did a demonstration of what she would do on tv we all had a great day and in the end we all had a lot of fun and we have all learnt a lot! 
:-) 

in topic we have been learning about the Aztecs, we have been learning about their gods and their food. These are some of the questions the class have asked:

Why did they sacrafice humans to the gods?

and 

How many temples did they build?

Did they like art and what type?

answers:

Aztecs sacraficed humans to the gods because they believed it stopped drought.

It is unknown how many temples the Aztecs built.


The Aztecs did like art they often did weaving, god eyes and mosaics.

Sycamore's epic first blog!

First Blog

Welcome to Sycamore's first blog! Our first few weeks have been great!

MATHS:
In maths this week we have been doing formal multiplication and division.
Can you calculate the following:

Literacy

In literacy this week we have been writing a poem personifying a season. 
We have also been learning a poem for national poetry day.

We will now interview Tom about National Poetry Day.                                                                     

Jack:  So what did you think about the Poems Tom?
Tom:   I thought it was great to hear all the poems that classes learnt!!!
Nat:   What was your favourite poem?
Tom:  My favourite was Macavity the mystery Cat!!!!!!!!
