This weeks bloggers are Ethan and Nick



On Monday, as you know, we came in late, so our first lesson was maths. We were supposed to do science after art but we did some igloo building instead.

On Tuesday we did spellings and after lunch we did music and P.E. in music we were doing some African music and dances. Then in P.E we were doing some gymnastics.

On Wednesday we started of with maths.
Mr Gigg- chance and probability
Mr Edwards- ordering decimals
Mrs Gilder – Fractions
After play we did writing workshop and during it we were writing about the snowman and snowdog.

On Thursday we started in maths. After play we did literacy and in it we were doing irony similes and everything else we’ve learnt. Later we did topic and S.E.A.L.

On Friday we started off with maths and in literacy, after play, we were writing up our favourite poem which we had written.

A- Because Rowan did one.                          Not really, we did about medium.

This week has been great. The snow made handfuls of excitement. There was an uncountable amount of igloos. We all had plenty of fun.

Welcome to this weeks amazing blog. This weeks bloggers are CLAUDIA and RACHEL!  This weeks photographers are Finlay and Jacob.
Art & DT: In Art and DT we had to draw our tile design on our polystyrene tile. We then covered it with paint and pressed it onto our paper. The results were amazing! We’ve now hung them up to enjoy each others brilliant work.

Q. What are you looking forward to most within year 6 and why?

A. I'm mostly looking forward to the Isle of white because I'm  looking forward to going on a holiday with most of my friends!

In Maths this week, Mr Edwards group has been helping to build a house for Mr and Mrs Jones. Mrs Gilder and Mrs Williams group have been learning about doubling and halving.

Science: In science this week we have been working on our new topic. The new topic is Solids, Liquids and Gases. We had several objects and needed to sort them into piles of Gases, Solids and Liquids. We also did another small investigation
where we figured out which statements were about Solids, Liquids or both.
 
Amy did a wonderful show and tell about her Lego and made a wonderful Lego house.

Joe did a  awsume show and told us how he got in to county cricket .

Claudia did a awesome show-and-tell about her love of PIGS! She also told the class about her sport (football)

New Year’s resolutions:

On Tuesday morning we all came up with some new year’s resolutions, either in or out of school. Everyone enjoyed sharing what challenging goals they had set for the New Year.

We have changed places, our new class council representatives are Sophie, Joe and Thomas

Subjects we have been learning this week:

ART: In art we were looking at Aztec designs and we have started to come up with our own Aztec tiles.

History: In history this week we looked at the Aztecs and looked at when they were around. We also made our own timelines.

P.E: In P.E we started to have a go at football. We were split into two groups, one for the more skilled players and another for the less skilled players.


Literacy: This week we look at personification and abstract nouns and made our own poems, everyone enjoyed it.

R.E: In R.E we have started looking religious festivals; we started looking at Hindu festivals.

Yes I found it entertaining especially the football camps.

Yes I enjoyed it because it was a good test to see what I have remembered over the years at Oakwood School.
