Art – we learnt about Faberge eggs and designed some of our own.
Literacy - we looked at advanced punctuation and revised some grammar
Maths : in sycamore we have been learning about consecutive numbers. (1,2,3)  We used numicon to investigate them. 
Geography: we have been learning about the effects of tourism in the Okavango delta.
Science: In science we have been looking careful at fruit and their seeds.  We cut open some fruit and even got to taste it!
Sports person of the week:  Reece for getting in the school swimming team.

This week was enterprise week Sycamore class made bath bombs and we sold them on Friday.  We ran out of stock so upper key-stage 2 did not get much. Overall we made £113.18



Maths:
In Sycamore  Maths we have been doing fractions.  also in Willow  we have been doing algebra.

literacy- this week in literacy we have been learning about semi-colons and colons, we have also been practising them in our homework

Science:
In science we have been have been looking natures life also food chains
and seeds from fruit, we all enjoyed this, as after we all got to eat it!

The Little Mermaid

It was exciting to announce this year's production to you all today. You all sounded very excited indeed, and we know that it will be an excellent production.

Remember, the auditions are Monday afternoon. You do not need to learn anything off by heart, but please have a look at the words and listen to the music, so that you become familiar.

We want to see confidence, enthusiasm and a performance.

ART:

This week we have been learning about the artwork of Esher, we were inspired by his magnificent tessellations so as a result we made some of our own to go up on the wall

 

Literacy:

In literacy, we have studying apostrophes and learning about when and when not to use them. As well as this, we wrote our own stories for a competition using the starting sentence of it was a dark and stormy night.

 

Maths:

Sycamore maths group have been working on fractions and percentages. We were converting fractions into percentages and learning about mixed numbers and equivalent fractions.

 

Geography:

We have been learning about the five oceans: The Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the southern ocean, the Arctic Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean and their natural resources, foods and raw materials.

We wrote our own adventure stories about being on a deserted island. 

Enterprise:  Throughout the week we have worked on our enterprise project.  The class have been busy planning and making bath bombs to sell nearer Mother's Day.  






Maths Dividing and Subtracting high numbers
In maths on Friday we did dividing up to 3 digit numbers. Like 3045 divided by 15 = 203.

Bloggers – Kain, Dafydd / photographers - Hafsah, Charlotte.
Art – We have been learning about Escher. He was an artist who did wonderful paintings that have no gaps and used tessellation. We did some portraits like him too it was amazing!  We have done a portrait in these few easy steps


Literacy – In literacy we have been learning about the Somerset levels. We have been making some ideas by researching through some papers, and we are going to make an article it. The Somerset levels have been flooded because people have forgot to drench it and now it has caused a massive problem!

Maths – In Maths we have been looking at different techniques to subtract, we have also been learning about co-ordinates it was awesome!  Loads of pupils like the column method the most because it is the easiest one to use!

Sports person of the week: Ryan because he was playing football with skill and agility he is really good at football! 
Birthdays: No birthdays this week but Kain had his birthday last week and it was a blast!
Word of the week: Trepidation
Joke of the week:   What exams are horses good at? – Hay levels!
